Transportation
Transportation to the ACE Programs sites is the responsibility of the individual student and his/her family. Many sending schools have arrangements in place for students to be picked up and dropped off in/near their home towns by Macoupin County Public Transportation (MCPT) or by Tri-County Rural Transit (TCRT) buses; ask your student's principal if this is an option for your student.
Students driving their own vehicles
Students who elect to drive themselves to school must park in the designated areas during school hours.
The school is not responsible for student vehicles, any possessions within, or anything attached to the vehicles;
students park their vehicles at their own risk.
Students have no reasonable expectation of privacy regarding cars parked at the school.
Students using MCPT or TCRT buses
Any student who has made transportation arrangements through his/her school district or through the ROE #40 must be at the designated location at the designated time for pickup.
Students who ride the bus to school are expected to ride it home.
Any exception must be accompanied by a letter, phone call, or in-person contact by the student’s parent/guardian.
Once on the bus, students may not leave the bus until they arrive at the designated drop-off location.
Both the bus driver and ACE must be contacted individually by the parent/guardian if there is any variation from the student’s transportation routine.
Three (3) no-call/no-shows may result in a suspension of bus privileges.
If it continues to be an issue, then the student's privileges may be revoked indefinitely.
Per the bus office/district agreement, the bus is seen as an extension of the school;
all behavior guidelines and rules which apply during the school day are to be observed by students on the bus.
Students are expected to behave in a mature and respectful manner.
Harassment and abusive language directed at other students or bus staff will not be tolerated.
Either the driver or ACE personnel may assign bus seats to students.
Eating and drinking is not allowed on the bus.
Sharp objects or other objects which may be used as weapons are not permitted on the bus.
ACE students are prohibited from having in their possession nicotine products, alcoholic beverages, or any illegal substances.
A student’s failure to comply with the above may result in his/her losing bus privileges and/or dismissal from ACE.
